A high-temperature warning is now in effect for Longford and Roscommon.
A status yellow high temperature warning comes into effect at midday for 14 counties.
Met Eireann issued the alert for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, and Tipperary which will be in effect until 6am tomorrow.
Temperatures are expected to soar above 27 degrees in affected areas, with a risk of heat stress, forest fires and water safety issues.
