The six elected members of the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District have sought an urgent meeting with the OPW Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran.
This is over persistent high water levels on the River Shannon.
The issue has affected the area for many years, with severe flooding in 2009 and 2015 damaging homes, farms and businesses.
A €30 million flood relief scheme for Carrick-on-Shannon is due to go planning this year, which will see the construction of embankments and flood walls,
