The head of Ballaghaderreen Fire Station is urging people not to burn rubbish on Bonfire Night tonight.
Roscommon County Council says it doesn't want to spoil traditions - but is warning the public of the dangers.
It says the uncontrolled burning of waste is illegal and damages the environment and people's health.
