A Longford councillor is calling for communities to be allowed to apply for generators to be used at local community centres and halls.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Martin Monaghan is bringing forward a motion to next weeks council meeting.
Many community centres across the Shannonside region were turned into emergency hubs in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn for people without power.
