Government under pressure to hike social welfare in next Budget

There's a call for social welfare rates to go up by 25 euro a week in the next Budget.

Social Justice Ireland says the Government must do so to reduce poverty and meet its own targets.

It says without the social welfare system just over one-third of the Irish population would have been living in poverty last year.
