Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin is welcoming a commitment by the government to ask the national Public Health Emergency Team to examine whether the use of Vitamin D may be useful against Coronavirus.
The Independent TD says she has read about the issue of Vitamin D in Ireland over the years and feels that the public need to be properly advised as to whether it would be useful to take a Vitamin D supplement as a means of boosting their immune system.
Speaking on the Lets Talk show today, the Independent TD said she's heard many medical professionals talk about Vitamin D in recent weeks and she believes most people would like guidance from NEPHET about it:
