A number of local centres for people with disabilities have received glowing reports from the health watchdog.
Inspections took place earlier this year at Teach na Coille, Eden Hill and Esker Gardens in county Longford as well as Mount Eslin in county Leitrim, the details of which have been published this week.
Teach na Coile provides respite care to 18 children who could avail of this on a day/ evening or overnight basis.
Overall the feedback provided there was very positive.
Families reported that they were very happy and gave examples to support this.
Eden Hill provides care and support to six individuals with disabilities between the ages of eleven and 18 years.
Inspections found the setting to be spacious, warm, welcoming, clean and well maintained on the day of this inspection.
Esker Gardens is a community facility designed for up to four residents and provides extended /long term care to residents over 18 years of age with varying conditions, abilities and disabilities.
There were sufficient staff employed in the centre, staffing levels were based on the needs of residents, and were in line with the statement of purpose.
While Mount Eslin provides care and support to six adults in county Leitrim.
Residents living in this centre had access to a variety of activities based on their assessed needs.
The inspector noted that residents were supported with individualised home based activities, bespoke day services and opportunities for work placements in their local community.
