A girl has been critically injured after she was struck by a car in Westmeath.
It happened at Clonmellon on Wednesday evening, shortly before 7.30pm.
The young girl was airlifted to Temple Street Children's Hospital in a critical condition.

Gardaí have closed the road for technical examinations to take place, local diversions are in place.
Officers at Mullingar Station are appealing for witnesses or anyone with camera footage to come forward.
