An online petition has been started by the Geraghty family in Carrick-on-Shannon this week amid fears that the family shop and business could be demolished.
The online petition says the family were shocked to hear of plans to possibly demolish the building and three others nearby to develop a new look for the town centre.
While Leitrim council hasn't confirmed yet if any concrete plans have actually been discussed for the centre of the town, Karen says her family are very concerned about what they've heard.
She says their online petition has been well supported since they put it up this week and they intend to continue their opposition to any proposals which would see the property demolished:
