Gardaí are urging people in Ballinamore to keep all machinery and tools locked away, after recent thefts from farms in the area. They're asking people to ensure keys are safely stored away from all vehicles, including quads and ride-on lawnmowers.
They say people should consider getting tools marked with the property-marking machine. Tens of thousands of euro worth of machinery was stolen from a yard in Ballinamore earlier this week.
