The gardai made a 'loss' of 7.5 million euro last year as a result of a contract with a speed-camera operator.
The force paid GoSafe 14.6 million euro in 2020 to operate safety cameras around the country.
But less than 7.2 million was raised as a result of fines from GoSafe detections.
