Gardai investigating after man's body discovered at house in Westmeath

A post mortem is expected to take place later today

Gardai are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in 'unexplained circumstances' in County Westmeath.

The man was found dead at a house in the Milltownpass area yesterday evening.

Shortly after 6pm, the body man in his 60s was discovered by Gardaí in a house at Rattin near Milltownpass.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The house has been sealed off for a technical examination.

The Office of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have were requested by the Gardai to assist in the investigation. The local Coroner was also notified.

Its expected the outcome of a post-mortem examination will determine the course of the investigation. The post-mortem examination is expected to take place today.
