The Roscommon Roads Policing Unit recently stopped a number of motorists for traffic offences. Two of the motorists subsequently tested positive for cocaine. The Roscommon Roads Policing Unit stopped a motorist recently when they observed the vehicle being driven with no NCT. The driver subsequently failed a road side drugs test, testing positive for cocaine. The motorist was arrested and Gardaí say court proceedings are set to follow. The local Roads Policing Unit also stopped another vehicle at a separate location for having no tax or insurance.
Following a road side drugs test, the driver tested positive for cocaine and opiates. The car was seized and court proceedings will follow. Finally, a van was stopped as part of a routine checkpoint last week in Co. Roscommon. Gardaí say the driver gave them false details and upon further inspection it was found that the motorist had been disqualified from driving with no licence, no insurance and no Certificate of Roadworthiness.
