Gardaí have confirmed that they seized a firearm and ammunition in Mullingar yesterday. It's understood the seizure is connected to recent incidents in the town.
The firearm and cartridges will now be forwarded to The Garda Ballistics Unit for further analysis. Gardaí say no arrests have been made in relation to the firearm seizure and investigations into related incidents remain ongoing.
