Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured in a road traffic collision close to the Roscommon Galway Border. The incident between a car and a truck took place yesterday afternoon on the R325 at Richmond between Clonberne and Moylough. A woman in her 70s who was the driver of the car sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment.
The road had been closed for a technical examination carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened. Anyone who witnessed the collision or who drove between Moylough and Clonberne between 12:00 and 12:30 pm is asked to contact Ballinasloe Garda station.
