A man charged with murdering Detective Garda Colm Horkan has been deemed unfit to appear in court today.

Stephen Silver, of Aughaward, Foxford, Mayo, was due to appear at Harristown court via video link.

However the court was told he is currently receiving medical attention at the Central Mental Hospital.

The court heard he was transferred Castlerea prison to receive medical attention this week.

His solicitor told the court today that he had received communication that Mr Silver would not be present via video link.

Judge Alan Mitchell remanded the accused in custody to appear in court again on July 10th at Harristown via video link.
