Garda Commissioner to meet Liam Farrell's family this month over suspicious death

Drew Harris has agreed to meet Liam Farrell's family on Thursday, July 31, at Garda Headquarters in Dublin. 

The Garda commissioner is to meet the family of a Leitrim man who died in suspicious circumstances later this month.

Drew Harris has agreed to meet Liam Farrell's family on Thursday, July 31, at Garda Headquarters in Dublin.

The 87-year-old was found dead outside his home in Rooskey in January 2020, and his family believes he was attacked.

An inquest returned an open verdict.

The commissioner ordered a peer review of the garda investigation into the case late last year.

It was completed earlier this year and Commissioner Harris is now willing to discuss the case with the Farrell family.
