Garda Commissioner pays tribute to Detective who died in Leitrim boat fire

The Garda Commissioner has paid tribute to the guard who died in a boat fire in Leitrim earlier this week.

The funeral of Deirdre Finn will take place in Ballinteer in Dublin on Friday.

She was attached to Dún Laoghaire Garda Station.e

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris says Detective Finn was a dedicated public servant:

'I want to express my sincere sympathy with her father on the loss of his dear daughter.

Also to the loss to us all of a very dedicated public servant who's worked for almost 30 years within An Garda Siochana, she would have had her 30 years of service next year.

She was dedicated detective as well as a dedicated GRA representative who helped her colleagues.'
