The funeral of hotelier and businessman Christy Maye is taking place in Co Longford today. Tributes have been paid since he passed away at the weekend. Christy Maye had a long and successful business career. A native of Ballymahon, who lived in Mullingar in recent years, he owned the Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar and the Bridge House Hotel in Tullamore. He was one of the founders of the popular Tullamore Show. He also brought the first ever disco to Ireland. He passed away peacefully last Saturday at the age of 83. His funeral Mass is taking place at 12 noon today in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Forgney, Co Longford, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
