Over 100,000 euro will be spent on upgrading the footpaths in Elphin this year.
Extra traffic has been going through the town recently, due to the upgrade of the N5 between Ballaghaderreen and Scramogue.
Local Independent councillor Valerie Byrne says the roads and footpaths in Elphin are in poor condition.
