Funding has been secured in flood prevention provisions in Roscommon Town.
Councillor Marty McDermott has announced the allocation, and confirmed works will be commencing in the next few days.
Roscommon County Council had previously secured significant funding to clean out rivers in Ballymurray, where flooding was a major concern for locals.
