Over 1 million euro has been secured for community climate projects across the region.
The successful projects were announced today by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
The Community Climate Action Programme is targeted at groups that are interested in developing projects and initiatives to address climate change in their locality.
It funds projects like renewable energy installations, community gardens and EV chargers.
It will cover the installation of solar panels, bicycle racks, and water filling stations at a number of local community centres as well as GAA clubs.
Co. Roscommon is set to benefit from the largest amount of funding in the region, at just over 470 thousand euro.
344 thousand euro has been allocated to 14 projects in Co. Leitrim.
Meanwhile, Longford will receive over 330 thousand euro in funding, which has been earmarked for 15 projects in the county.
