Funding boost to help provide extra mental health supports in I.T Sligo and Athlone I.T

Almost a quarter of a million euro is to be given to third-level institutions in the Shannonside region to help students with their mental

Almost a quarter of a million euro is to be given to third-level institutions in the Shannonside region to help students with their mental health.

The Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris has today announced a financial package of €5 million to support students' wellbeing and mental health.

Atlone I.T is to receive €125,000 in funding, with I.T Sligo to receive just over €120,000.

The funding will be used to recruit more student counsellors, assistant psychologists and to implement the Framework for Consent in colleges.
