The remains of a man killed in an explosion in Co Roscommon six weeks ago have finally been released to his family.
Des Deegan's funeral is expected to take place next week.
The 72-year-old died in an explosion and subsequent fire at his home in the Oaks in Frenchpark on June 18th.
His property was destroyed while other homes were also damaged.
Fire services from Boyle and Ballaghaderreen attended the scene and Des's body was removed from the scene for a post-mortem examination.
It took several weeks before his remains were released to his family.
But this has now taken place as the formal identification process is complete.
Final arrangements are being made for his funeral, which is expected to take place next week.
He will be buried in Co Meath.
