Forsa members at a Longford disability centre formally announce industrial action

Forsa members at a popular Longford disability centre have formally announced upcoming industrial action. St Christopher's Services provide a community-based service for people with intellectual difficulties at their campus on the Battery Road in Longford Town. Last week, staff voted almost entirely in favour of industrial action over issues at the service.

The action will take the form of a Work to Rule protest and will take place on Tuesday the 28th of May, where staff will do no more than the minimum required by the rules of their contract. Management informed staff last month that they would be suspending incremental payments in 2024 'until further notice' as ordered by the HSE, causing much upset among staff.
