Former TD Eamon Scanlon says he's seriously considering running for Fianna Fáil in the general election in Sligo-Leitrim. Sligo councillor Edel McSharry is the party's only confirmed candidate in the constituency so far, after winning a selection convention in August.
But Scanlon may be added to the ticket and says he'll make a final decision in the next week. The 70-year-old, from Ballymote, had a long career as a councillor, senator and TD before losing his seat in the Dáil in 2020.
