Former TD and Roscommon resident to be laid to rest today

The funeral is taking place today of former Fianna Fáil TD and Co Roscommon resident Seán Sherwin.
He was actively involved in the community in Rooskey.
Seán Sherwin was a Fianna Fáil TD between 1970 and 1973 and also served as the party's national organiser.

He moved to Rooskey several years ago and was involved in the community, including with the Active Age and Rooskey Town and Country Development Committee.
He died peacefully at his home in Rooskey last Wednesday, while aged in his late 70s.
His funeral Mass is taking place in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Ballyfermot, in Dublin, at 11.30 this morning, followed by a burial at Saggart Cemetery.
