Former Athlone Mayor and Councillor Egbert Moran has passed away. Mr Moran was a Fianna Fáil councillor on westmeath County Council for over a decade.
Local Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran is among those paying tribute this evening saying he was a great ambassador for Athlone. His funeral mass will take place on Monday in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Coosan Cemetery.
