Over 9,000 people in the county lost electricity in January, and forestry was the main cause.

The Forestry Minister made "no firm commitments" to Leitrim activists during meetings about storm damage today. Over 9,000 people in the county lost electricity in Storm Eowyn in January, and forestry was the main cause.

Minister Michael Healy-Rae met local politicians, Leitrim County Council and Ballinamore Area Community Council in Dublin today. Local Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says he didn't promise compensation for farmers who lost sheds in the storm.
