Flood relief works to take place on River Shannon

Machinery will be deployed to clear silt, remove fallen trees, and eliminate other blockages in Jamestown and other areas.

It's hoped that future strategic maintenance work will improve the River Shannon's flow and reduce the likelihood of flooding.

Machinery will be deployed to clear silt, remove fallen trees, and eliminate other blockages in Jamestown and other areas.

The OPW, Waterways Ireland and Shannon Flood Risk State Agency Co-ordination Working Group have all come together to alleviate the issue.
