The party convention to fill the council seat of Senator Paraic Brady was held in Aughnacliffe last night, where a number of speakers described plans for LE29.
Fine Gael returned three councillors in a five seater in June 2024 with their fourth Councillor, Colin Dalton, losing by just four votes to Fianna Fail's David Cassidy.
Councillor Dalton returned to the fold last night following a close vote among local party members to take Paraic Brady's vacant seat.
He beat Senator Brady's brother Cian Brady and Granard's Kathleen McGahern.
