The government has come under fire locally for their failure to provide a much-needed family resource centre for Longford town.
Just last month, it was announced that a number of areas were to benefit from the Túsla National Programme in 2025.
However, despite a strong application, Longford's application was deemed unsuccessful.
There are currently two family resource centres in the county - in Ballymahon and Granard.
Local Cllr Peggy Nolan has labelled Longford as the "poorer relation":
