Figures show sharp rise in local property prices

The Central Statistics Office have published their latest figures.

New figures have shown a sharp rise in median property prices in the Shannonside region over the past year.

Saoirse Gillooly reports:

County Roscommon recorded one of the strongest increases year-on-year according to the Central Statistics Office.

The median price there rose from €187,000 in 2025 to €215,000 in 2026 - a jump of €28,000.

Leitrim also saw a notable rise in values.

The county's median property price climbed from €180,000 last year to €207,500 this year, representing an increase of €27,500.

While in County Longford, the increase was more modest but still evident.

Median prices moved from €190,000 in 2025 to €200,000 in 2026,

Over the last twelve months, the Castlerea F45 Eircode recorded the lowest median price by Eircode nationwide, with homes changing hands at an average of €153,000.
