People are advised to take extra care on the roads and look after elderly neighbours during the current spell of icy weather.
The north and west of the country are worst hit, with snow forecast in places.
Status yellow ice warnings will remain in effect for the entire country until 11 o'clock this morning and return again at 6 o'clock this evening.
