Eugene Murphy will contest the Seanad elections next month - after receiving last-minute nominations.
The senator got two so-called 'outside' nominations shortly before today's deadline of 12 noon, and is now listed on the administrative and agricultural panels.
He contested the general election as an Independent after quitting Fianna Fáil, but was not elected.

He confirms he will be on the ballot paper for next month's Seanad elections.
