Ireland's EU commissioner has vowed to assist a Lanesboro mother searching for answers following the death of her son in a missile attack in Ukraine.
Geraldine O'Donohue reached out to local MEP Ciaran Mullooly, calling for clarity surround the death of her son, Ryan.
Ryan Evans had been working as a security adviser for the Reuters news agency in Ukraine protecting journalists and photographers reporting on the war.
He was killed last August in a Russian missile attack which targeted the hotel where he had been staying in the town of Kramatorsk.
It took nineteen hour sto recover his body from the hotel rubble, but there has been unclarity surrounding the injuries he sustained during the attack.
MEP Ciaran Mullooly confirmed he has since met with EU Commissioner Michael McGrath, who said he will be in contact with Ukrainian officials to obtain an autopsy report.
