The Enterprise Minister says there's no mixed messaging from Government in relation to the Mercosur trade deal despite some Irish MEP's indicating they'll vote in favour of the agreement. Ireland was one of five countries to oppose the deal last week.
However, Fine Gael MEP Regina Doherty and Fianna Fáil MEP Barry Andrews have indicated they'll vote in favour of it. Minister Peter Burke says Ireland's position on Mercosur is clear:
Sinn Fein is accusing the Government of trying to "ride both horses" when it comes to the Mercosur trade deal. The party brought a motion to the Dail last night calling on the State to ask its MEPs to continue fighting the European agreement.
