A Roscommon councillor has welcomed the allocation of €88 million towards the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue bypass. The funding for the project is part of an overall announcement today of €633 million by the Department of Transport for 2025.
It includes €502 million through Transport Infrastructure Ireland funding. Cllr Liam Callaghan says it's part of wider funding for County Roscommon:
€2.4 million has also been allocated for the N4 Mullingar to Rooskey upgrade works. Senator Joe Flaherty says this will 'significantly advance delivery' of the project:
