€30k shortfall between grant and cost of home-energy upgrade - Roscommon councillor

Councillor Laurence Fallon says the government needs to increase the grants - and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

A Roscommon councillor says most homeowners can't afford to retrofit their homes - because of a €30,000 shortfall in state grants.

Laurence Fallon says many people want to upgrade the energy rating of their houses.

This often includes heat-pumps, insulation and new windows and doors.

But Councillor Fallon, from Rahara, says the government needs to increase the grants - and reduce reliance on fossil fuels:
