A €14 million hospice building is opening on the grounds of Sligo University Hospital this autumn.
It will have 12 single bedrooms, rooms for outpatient day services, and an 11-space car park.
It's the first phase of the new North West Hospice inpatient building.
The second phase will see the current inpatient unit refurbished and this will be finished early next year.
North West Hospice manager, Nuala Ginnelly, welcomes the progress.
