Over €1.5 million has been announced for upgrading rural roads and laneways in the Shannonside region.
Rural Development Minister Dara Calleary has allocated €17.5 million for Local Improvement Schemes throughout the country.
The LIS involves the state and homeowners jointly paying for the upgrade of small roads and laneways.
Leitrim County Council is getting €434,000, with Longford allocated €380,000, and Roscommon getting nearly €696,000.
