Turnout has exceeded 30 per cent in some areas in the Shannonside region in the presidential election.
Drumshanbo, south Roscommon and Cortober in Carrick-on-Shannon all have steady numbers.
Turnout was slow in many parts of the country this morning and depending on the area is running similar or behind 2018's turnout.
That was the lowest turnout in history when 44 per cent of people voted.
Figures for the Shannonside region have been released.
In Co Leitrim, Drumshanbo leads the way on 36 per cent, with Carrick-on-Shannon on 25 per cent, Ballinamore on 24.5 per cent and Manorhamilton on 23 per cent.
In Roscommon-Galway, Cortober in Carrick-on-Shannon and south Roscommon lead the way on 30 per cent, with Boyle on 28 per cent, Rooskey on 25 per cent, Roscommon town and Castlerea both on 24 per cent, Ballinasloe a little lower on 22 per cent, and Ballaghaderreen at only 16 per cent.
And in Longford-Westmeath, rural Longford is on 20 per cent, with urban Longford on 16 per cent, with rural Mullingar on 21 per cent and urban Mullingar on 22 per cent.
There's traditionally a swifter turnout in the evening and polls don't close until 10 o'clock tonight.
