Drumlish man was 'first point of contact' for those emigrating to New York
A bench will be unveiled in Corn Hill, Drumlish today to honour the late Mike Prunty.

Longford County Council will unveil a bench in memory of Mike Prunty this afternoon at Corn Hill.

A local Senator has paid tribute to late Drumlish man Mike Prunty ahead of the unveiling of a memorial bench in his honour. Longford County Council will unveil the bench at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Corn Hill. Mr Prunty, who passed away last December, served as President of the Longford Association in New York. He was born in Ballincurry, Drumlish in 1940 and emigrated to New York in 1959.

Senator Pauric Brady said he was the first port of all in The Big Apple for those emigrating from Longford:
