Local Gardaí are reminding motorists to never drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
That’s after a number of drivers in the Sligo-Leitrim area were penalised during a national day of action.
Checkpoints and patrols were conducted on a number of roads, including the N4.

Gardaí have confirmed that three drivers were detected drug driving.
One driver was arrested for dangerous driving; five vehicles were seized for having no insurance or learner permit holders driving unaccompanied by a full license holder.
A quantity of drugs was also recovered during the operation.
