Drop in burglaries reported locally

Burglary levels dropped significantly across the Shannonside region during 2025.

New figures show major reductions in both the Roscommon/Longford and Sligo-Leitrim Garda divisions.

According to the CSO crime statistics, 103 burglaries were recorded in the Roscommon/Longford division during 2025, a 61 per cent reduction compared with the previous year.

Meanwhile, the Sligo-Leitrim division recorded 86 burglaries, down 40 per cent year-on-year.
