Almost one in three teenagers in Co Roscommon have witnessed physical or psychological violence in their homes.
A new survey also reveals more than half of teens in the county aren't getting enough sleep.
The Western Region Drug and Alcohol Task Force conducted this Planet Youth survey, with 659 15 and 16-year-olds in Roscommon responding.
It reveals 18 per cent have witnessed domestic violence, of a psychological nature, in their homes.
A further 12 per cent have witnessed physical violence, involving an adult, in their homes.
The study also found 28 per cent of teens are in carer roles in their homes.
The report says this extra responsibility often results in poorer mental health and missing more days at school.
59 per cent of teens in Roscommon aren't getting enough sleep - and 84 per cent have a phone in their bedroom at night.
