A special collection will be displayed at Roscommon Library to mark the centenary of the birth of one of Ireland's greatest boatbuilders.
Lecarrow native Jimmy Furey was born on Sunday, March 29th 100 years ago and gained international fame for his craft.
To mark the occasion, Mr Furey's estate has donated what papers of his remained at his cottage at the time of his death.
The Mount Plunkett resident, who passed away in 2020, as the recipient of a Duke of Edinburgh gold medal.
His work has also been permanently displayed at the Greenwich Maritime Museum in London.
Jimmy's nephew and chief executor John has urged anyone with memories or photographs of Jimmy to contact the library:
