Diesel still costing over 210c a litre in many local stations - a week after excise cuts

While prices have fallen across the region, some stations are still charging 212.9 cents for a litre of diesel this morning.

Diesel is still costing over 2 euro and 10 cents a litre in many filling stations across the Shannonside region - a week after excise was cut by the government.

Last week, it was reduced by 20 cent a litre for diesel and 15 cent for petrol until the end of May, due to the Iran war.

But, while prices have fallen across the region, some stations are still charging 212.9 cents for a litre of diesel this morning.

Petrol is selling for around €1.90 a litre in many local stations today.

Local MEP Ciaran Mullooly thinks the prices for both these fuels will continue to drop:
