It's hoped that construction work a new creative and innovation hub in Ballaghaderreen could begin before the end of this year.
A design firm has been appointed this week to begin drawing up detailed plans for the site at the fair green in the west Roscommon town for the Digital Creative Hub.
The project , which is being led by the Bealach Nua group, will provide a space for entrepreneurs and start ups as well as assisting existing businesses.
The overall project, worth an estimated three million euro, will also provide a permanent location for the town's family resource centre.
Chair of Bealach Nua John Higgins says the next stage of the project is sitting down with the design team and working out exactly the right design for the site.
