Gardaí on patrol in county Leitrim, stopped a vehicle and trailer during routine checks on Monday morning.
Following an examination, the vehicle was deemed to be dangerously defective.
Gardaí determined that the condition of the vehicle posed a serious risk to road safety.

The driver was arrested at the scene.
They are due to appear before a sitting of the District Court at a later date.
